︎ FIRE AS SITE is a cross-disciplinary art initiative aimed at thinking with and alongside wildfire in the West as an ever-shifting “site” for agile artistic practice and creative response.

FIRE AS SITE is an ongoing, site-specific project exploring agile practices for radical placemaking in the fire-impacted West.


 

Site-specific is a purposeful misnomer because wildfire, of course, doesn't stay in one place. Yet fire seems to transform reality into a strange new "site" no matter where we are.

 

After its first activation in the summer of 2018, FIRE AS SITE  continues as a series of gestures and conversations with wildfire as a “site” for relationality and creative response.
